Train to Amsterdam City Centre

The most popular route is between Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam Centraal Station, located in the heart of the city.

Trains run very frequently, so there is no need to book in advance for most journeys.


Types of Trains

There are two main train types connecting Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam:

  • Sprinter: Stops at Lelylaan, Sloterdijk and Central Station.
  • Intercity: Direct service to Central Station with fewer stops.

The time difference between both is minimal (around 3 minutes), so either option is convenient.
